What is SPKA
- SPKA stands for Sistem Pengawasan Kebakaran Automatik (Automatic Fire Monitoring System). It is a mandatory fire safety system in Malaysia, regulated by Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM) under Act 341.
- Effective 18 December 2025, the government, through Kementerian Pembangunan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT), has appointed Crystal Solaris Sdn Bhd to carry out SPKA instalation and services nationwide until 17 December 2031.
- Technology: The system uses AI and IoT to verify fire alarms within 180 seconds, helping to reduce false dispatches.
- Mandatory Connection: Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia will not issue the Fire Certificate (FC) if the SPKA system is not active and connected during inspection.

Malaysia has introduced the Automatic Fire Monitoring System (SPKA) at Menara Merdeka 118, making it the first building in the country to implement this advanced fire safety technology.
